UNDP IRAN ENERGY SUBSIDIES REPORT Book design

Designed a 100-page report on Iran’s energy subsidies, integrating infographics, graphs, and text to create a clear and visually engaging narrative.

Research :
Referenced previous UN reports on climate change as key materials.

Insight :
Ensured the design was inclusive while avoiding potentially harmful or stereotypical imagery.

Design Solution :
Used green and red color schemes to convey energy and positivity, and organized complex infographics and graphs into clear, precise layouts for easier understanding.

Result :
Received positive evaluation within the department. I learned how to collaborate effectively with scholars and other departments.

Designed visual materials for the 69th UN Women event.



Research
For the UN Women event, I designed the visual materials and worked closely with the department. As the designer, I made an effort to keep our meetings clear and accessible for colleagues without a design background. 

To guide the direction, they initially requested elegant imagery and illustrations. I also studied past UN projects to ensure my work aligned with the UN brand identity.

Insight
Use inclusive, sophisticated, and refined graphic elements.


First Draft
I used a purple gradient to create an elegant look and leveraged AI tools to represent women’s power and diversity.


Feedback
Some of the women’s imagery felt a bit stereotypical, so I decided to change it.
Design Solution  
To avoid stereotypes in representing women’s rights, I used an inclusive and refined visual language, expressing elegance with purple and yellow gradients instead of female figures.

Final Version

Result  
The project was well received, and I learned the importance of making designs both elegant and inclusive.

And I learned that brand guidelines can sometimes help me make quick design decisions.

  2. For the UNDP Climate Crisis Report, I created a book cover design using AI tools. The Climate Crisis team requested imagery of the Earth with a dark atmosphere and linear elements to convey the feeling that the planet is in danger.

RESULTI gained about six months of experience in graphic design, where I learned how to participate in meetings, collaborate across teams, meet deadlines, communicate effectively, maintain brand consistency, and utilize AI in design production.
